Interpretation of Laotse`s chapter 1 from View point of Whitehead`s process Philosophy
Lee Tae-Ho

Abstract
There have been a lot of interpretations about Laotse. It will be so in the future. This paper also attempted another interpretation. It is based on the philosophy of Whitehead, a modern Western philosopher. His philosophy is also called an organic philosophy or a process philosophy. The former is because all actual entities of universe have a purpose, that is to say, a subjective aim as a subject and at the same time they are connected to each other organically. The latter is due to regard as reality the process of flow experienced by actual entities rather than the fixed immovability of the non-actual entities. Having a view of this Whitehead, if we look at chapter one of Laotse, we can see that revealing the always of Immobility is the named, where as the reality pointing out the persistence of flow is unnamed. We have to understand that these two are different but came from the same Tao. This is Hsuan. When we know this Hsuan. we can properly open the door of Latose.
